TBJ’s Leadership Team
Eliseo and Ana
From 1997 – 2009 Eliseo Pulido (Founder of TBJ Drywall & Taping) was a union carpenter for a well-known drywall company. With years of experience and success of being a foreman and field manager, Eliseo was approached by many companies with business opportunities. He like the company he worked for and was comfortable with his position there, so he never pursued any of the opportunities presented to him.
That all took a turn when the 2008 Great Recession hit. The company he spent twelve years at closed its doors in 2009 and laid off all their workers, including Eliseo.
Ana Pulido was a Real Estate broker from 2001-2009. The housing market was hit equally hard during the recession.
During the Recession, Eliseo established an automotive shop thinking he was not going back to construction. Ana help Eliseo start up the new company in 2008, named TBJ Auto Repair and located in Elgin (now known as Omega Auto Service). Eliseo shifted his focus to the auto shop once he was officially laid off from construction. They struggled as many families did with a lack of money and credit during the economic crash. Their new business venture, the automotive shop, was struggling for business too.
In September 2010, Eliseo was offered an opportunity to work on apartment buildings being built in Algonquin, neighboring the Algonquin Commons. This was a huge opportunity for Eliseo who had the knowledge and skill to successfully complete the project, but he and Ana lacked the money to fund the upfront material and labor costs.
As luck would have it, while attending a bible study class, Eliseo and Ana met a very generous man who asked Eliseo if he knew of any worthy local businesses to invest his money. Eliseo and Ana asked him if he was interested in investing in their start-up business with the apartment buildings as their first client. He replied yes! With the seed money available and the project approved, they registered the new company, TBJ Drywall & Taping, inc. and began work. The quality of the first apartment building proved their skills and they were asked to complete the rest of the planned apartment buildings.
Word of quality work gets spread around the construction industry, so new projects followed. As their client list expanded TBJ Drywall & Taping has sought our and hired talented workers who have the same strong work ethic and exacting standards as Eliseo and Ana.
TBJ Drywall & Taping is proud to provide a broad range of quality construction support services, and give meaningful work to over 200 conscientious and hard working employees.
